The annual faculty and staff charitable giving campaign, We Care…WE COUNT, has generated more than $542,000 in support for the university this year.
Twenty-eight percent of faculty and staff participated in this year’s campaign, which has raised more than $1 million for programs, special initiatives, academic areas and scholarships since the campaign began in 2009. This year’s participation rate represents a 40 percent increase from 2010.
Following a challenge lead by President V. Lane Rawlins, faculty and staff donated $92,000 toward scholarships during the five-week campaign, which the president matched with monies from the Presidential Priority Fund, a fund supported by UNT’s dedicated President's Council members.

Faculty and staff may continue to donate throughout the academic year, and may select a fund, program or scholarship to support. Donations are tax-deductible as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
Donations received by Aug. 31 will go to the 2010-11 campaign. Beginning Sept. 1, all donations will count for the 2011-12 academic year. The 2012 campaign begins April 1, 2010.
