Dear UNT community,
As you know, based on numerous studies about the dangers of secondhand smoke, UNT will become a Smoke-Free Campus as of Jan. 1, 2013. We are in the process of finalizing our Smoke-Free Campus Policy and will have a university-wide meeting for our students, faculty and staff, which will provide an opportunity to learn the details of our new policy, more fully understand it and ask questions.
The meeting:
The most frequent questions relate to how this policy will be enforced. The general answer is that it will be self-enforced, and we plan for this to be discussed in the meeting. We also plan to show the new signs that will be posted on campus once the policy takes effect.
