Rent-a-Text is a new program that was launched in 2009 by the UNT Bookstore to offer students - and that includes faculty and staff who enroll in classes - an opportunity to rent textbooks for a semester. UNT students of all types have saved more than $500,000 with the rental program.
The UNT Follett Bookstore carries 100 percent of the textbook titles that are adopted by the university.
Currently more than 34 percent (or more than 1,000) of the titles that are being used are available in a new or used format for rent at 42.5 percent of the new retail price. This is in addition to the other new, used and electronic formats that are available.
As a strong supporter of UNT spirit and tradition, the bookstore is proud to meet the needs of the students and welcomes students, faculty and staff back to campus.
Please be aware that "A student of this institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a university-affiliated bookstore. The same textbooks may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer," according to the Texas Education Code, Section 51.9705 (H.B. 1096, 81st Texas Legislature)
