The fifth annual ExtravaCANza activity, which benefits the Denton Community Food Center, will be March 1. But now is the time for faculty and staff to register a department, division, building or organization for the annual event.
ExtravaCANza, UNT's largest food drive, was formerly known as CANstruction.
In 2012, UNT donated more than 10,000 pounds of food to the center, which distributes more than 400,000 pounds of food annually to local residents.
The campus community will form teams to build sculptures with cans of nonperishable food. The sculptures will be judged on size and creativity.
Build your masterpiece from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 19 at Discovery Park, or from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 1 at the Library Mall. Rain site will be the University Union.
The campus community can view the sculptures from 1 to 2 p.m. March 1 on Library Mall.
