Construction begins for relocated bookstore, food pavilion

On May 6, construction fences will go up to begin work on modular buildings housing the UNT Bookstore and a food pavilion. Construction activities are beginning across campus in preparation for the new University Union.

Union construction activity to close 3 parking lots

Parking lots 47, 53 and 56 will close April 24 and 29 to allow construction of temporary buildings, part of the new University Union building. The temporary structures will house the Texas Fashion Collection, a portion of the Department of Counseling and Higher Education, part of the College of Visual Arts and Design and the Department of Dance and Theatre.

UNT receives Green Ribbon Awards for sustainable construction

The power managment SMART project and Apogee Stadium wind turbines won Green Ribbon Awards at the U.S. Green Building Council North Texas Gala. The projects are examples of UNT’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and operate efficiently.

Master Plan topic of campus meeting

Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend - and to invite students to attend - an April 8 forum to discuss the university's master plan. Chancellor Lee Jackson, President V. Lane Rawlins, College of Visual Arts and Design Associate Dean Jean Miller and architectural design consultants will participate.
