Speaks Out series to allow participants to experience Alzheimer's

Alzheimer’s disease will be the topic of the Feb. 28 UNT Speaks Out program sponsored by the UNT Libraries. Representatives of a memory care community will offer a virtual experience to show both the physical and the cognitive symptoms of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Study will focus on veterans’ transition to higher education

Shelley Riggs, associate professor of psychology, and student researchers plan to recruit 200 veterans who are attending four year colleges and universities to learn how military experience affects their college experience.

Sewell cited for constructivist psychology scholarship

Kenneth Sewell received the George A. Kelly Award for Outstanding Scholarly Contributions to Constructive Psychology. Sewell is widely published and a frequent presenter, and has mentored 32 UNT doctoral students.

Volunteers needed for study of grandmothers' parenting skills

Participants are needed for Project COPE - Caring for Others as a Positive Experience – a study being conducted by Bert Hayslip, Regents Professor of psychology. This project concerns grandmothers who are raising a grandchild between ages of 4 to 12.

Rogers receives association award for public policy contributions

Regents Professor Richard Rogers was cited for research on the nearly 900 variations of the Miranda arrest warning. His work was supported by more than $800,000 from the National Science Foundation.
